This beach, Playa de la Barrosa, is not usually so deserted. In summer, sun worshippers cool off in the sea; in winter, pet owners walk their dogs. Its six kilometers of fine sand make it one of the most popular beaches on the Costa de la Luz. At one end it belongs to the municipality of Chiclana de la Frontera. At the other end, it is part of the Novo Sancti Petri resort and its wide range of modern, mid-range hotels.

La Barrosa has a few upscale beach bars (chiringuitos) that are open all year round. Whatever the season, chiringuitos Santorini Beach and Coconovo Beach are always worth a visit. You can never go wrong with a tinto de verano while hanging out on the beach.
